How the music runs on the day

A wedding has several parts and each needs different music. DJ G plans each part with you so the day flows without anyone having to think about it.

Arrival and ceremony

If you'd like music for the ceremony, there's 30 to 60 minutes of background music while guests arrive and take their seats, then the music for your walk down the aisle and signing.

Drinks reception

About an hour of relaxed music while guests mingle, loud enough to set the mood and quiet enough to talk over.

Meal and speeches

Background music through dinner, and announcements when it's time to sit down, cut the cake or gather for the speeches.

First dance and the dance floor

Your first dance and any parents' dances, then three to four hours of dance floor. DJ G reads the room and changes the music as the night goes, mixing Irish wedding favourites with whatever gets your crowd moving.

Your playlist, planned together

Before the wedding you'll go through the music together: your first dance, songs that have to be played, songs that definitely shouldn't, and the overall feel you want. Guests can make requests on the night, and DJ G fits them in where they suit the floor.

Wedding DJ questions

How much does a DJ from DJ G Beats cost?

It depends on the type of event, how long it runs and what you need. For a standard 4-hour event, prices typically range from €400 to €600.

Weddings, corporate functions and larger parties can cost more when they need extra lighting, a custom playlist or extended hours. Send your date and venue for an exact quote.

Is it worth having a DJ at a wedding?

Yes. A DJ reads the room and changes the music as the night goes, which a playlist can't do. DJ G also makes announcements, takes requests and keeps the dance floor busy from the first dance to the last song.

Sound and lighting are included in DJ packages, so the room looks and sounds right all night.

How many hours should a wedding DJ play?

Usually 4 to 6 hours. That typically covers background music while guests arrive and during the ceremony (30 to 60 minutes, if needed), about an hour for the drinks reception, and 3 to 4 hours for the meal, the first dance and the dance floor.

Every wedding runs differently, so the timeline and playlist are planned with you before the day.

Can we choose the songs?

Yes. You'll plan a playlist together before the event, including must-play songs, your first dance and anything you don't want played. Guest requests on the night are welcome too.

How far in advance should we book?

As early as you can, especially for Saturdays in summer and the run-up to Christmas. Send your date and it'll be confirmed straight away if it's free.
